Watch & iPhone Notification Issues

Due to inherent delays in the Apple Watch system, occasional notification delays are normal. If you're consistently not receiving stress alerts, check the following:

Checklist

1. Verify StressMonitor is installed on your Watch

Open the Watch app on your iPhone → My Watch → scroll to find StressMonitor → confirm it's installed and shown as installed on watch.

2. Enable notifications on iPhone

Go to Settings → StressMonitor → Notifications and confirm notifications are enabled.

3. Enable notifications for Watch

Open the Watch app on iPhone → Notifications → StressMonitor → confirm alerts are allowed.

4. Check special modes

Ensure your iPhone or Apple Watch is not in Low Power Mode, Sleep mode, Focus mode, Do Not Disturb, Theater mode, or Workout mode. These all suppress notifications.

5. Enable Background App Refresh on iPhone

Go to Settings → General → Background App Refresh and confirm it's enabled, including for StressMonitor specifically (check both the master toggle and the per-app setting).

6. Enable Background App Refresh on Apple Watch

On your Apple Watch: Settings → General → Background App Refresh → ensure it's on for StressMonitor.

If None of the Above Works

Contact support at support@stressmonitor.app with:

  • Your iPhone and Apple Watch models
  • iOS and watchOS version numbers

We'll investigate and aim to address it in a future update.

Notifications Arriving Too Frequently

Reduce frequency in StressMonitor → Settings → Notifications → Notification Intensity.

The minimum interval between overload alerts is 4 hours.

Notifications Arriving Late

Background refresh timing is managed by iOS based on your usage patterns and battery. StressMonitor cannot guarantee exact delivery timing.

For time-sensitive monitoring, open the app manually for a current reading.
